Minimum Requirements

Offer of Employment: You must hold a full-time job offer (minimum 30 hours per week) from an accredited NewZealand employer

Minimum Wage: You must be paid at least the market rate and meet the required wage thresholds for your role

Qualification and Verification: Meet the minimum skill and qualification/experience requirements for your occupation

Accredited Employer: Your New Zealand based employer must hold Immigration New Zealand accreditation

English Language: Meet English language requirements if your role is classified as ANZSCO skill level 4or 5 and no exemption applies.

Health and Character Requirements: You must meet standard immigration requirements, including a medical examination.

This visa allows you to:

Work in New Zealand for an accredited employer

Stay for up to 5 years depending on your role and pay rate

Study for up to 3 months in any 12-month period, or study required as part of your job

Visa conditions

You must work only for the employer, location, and role stated on your visa

To change your employer or job, you must apply for a Job Change or apply for a new visa

Must meet or exceed the required pay rate and ANZSCO skill level

Maximum stay depends on ANZSCO skill level (Levels 1-3: up to 5 years and Levels 4-5: up to 3 years)

If you reach your maximum continuous stay on one or more AEWVs, you must normally spend 12 consecutive months outside New Zealand before you can be granted another AEWV.
